SOFTWARE ENGINEERING MANAGER
Job Summary
As a Software Engineering Manager, you will lead high-performing application development teams to design, build, and deliver scalable, high-quality software solutions that support critical business operations. You will blend technical leadership with people management, driving engineering excellence while fostering a collaborative, innovative, and results-oriented team environment. This role partners closely with business stakeholders, product teams, and external vendors to ensure technology solutions align with organizational goals and deliver measurable value.
About the Role
This position is 100% onsite, day 1 in our Erlanger, KY office.
Required Qualifications
- Lead with a balance of technical expertise and people-first leadership, inspiring teams to deliver their best work.
- Communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences, translating business needs into actionable engineering solutions.
- Take ownership of outcomes, proactively removing roadblocks and ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality software.
- Build strong partnerships with stakeholders, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
- Mentor and develop engineers while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment and confidently manage competing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing vendor relationships and external development partners.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, AI/ML technologies, or modern data solutions.
- Experience with Agile, DevOps, or CI/CD practices.
- Exposure to enterprise architecture and large-scale system design.
- Experience implementing or supporting AI-enabled applications or automation initiatives.
- Strong understanding of security, scalability, and performance considerations in enterprise systems.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Must be able to use sensory skills (i.e. verbal communication) to effectively communicate and interact with other Associates and customers.
- Must be able to perform repetitive motions and use fine motor skills (i.e. typing, writing) to operate office supplies (i.e. computer, calculator, copier).
- Must be able to lift and carry approximately 20-25lbs unassisted.
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time with low periods of reaching and standing.
