Responsibilities
- Provide technical and people leadership to a team of Android engineers.
- Own team planning, execution, and delivery of high-quality features and platform improvements.
- Conduct regular one-on-ones, deliver timely and constructive feedback, support career growth, and foster a team culture of inclusion, psychological safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Define team priorities, technical roadmaps, and long-term platform investments aligned to business goals.
- Establish clear technical direction in collaboration with senior engineers and cross-functional partners.
- Define and maintain standards for code quality, testing, performance, and security.
- Implement processes to enable greater development velocity without sacrificing technical quality.
- Work closely with product managers, designers, QA, and backend teams to scope features, assess feasibility, align on priorities, and ensure the successful delivery of initiatives.
- Deeply understand the product and user experience to make informed technical and architectural decisions that tie back to customer and business goals.
- Contribute to the Android codebase, review pull requests, troubleshoot complex bugs, and help resolve architectural or project bottlenecks.
- Lead by example and serve as a mentor and unblocker for the team.
About You
- 5+ years of experience building native Android applications.
- 2+ years in an engineering management role, growing and developing high-performing mobile teams.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex mobile products with robust architecture and maintainable codebases.
- Excellent time management: able to juggle multiple projects and competing priorities efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills: effective at collaborating with cross-functional partners and stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle.
- Strong organizational skills: experienced in team capacity planning, backlog management, and translating high-level goals into executable roadmaps.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and accountable team culture.
- A passion for building user-centric products and excitement in fintech.
Nice To Haves
- Experience supporting teams through the adoption of Compose and the shift toward modularized, scalable codebases.
- Experience building or integrating developer tools or automation that boost team velocity and efficiency.
- Familiarity with best practices in implementing CI/CD pipelines and overseeing the mobile app deployment lifecycle.
- Have fintech and/or startup experience.
Pay
Salary range: $210,000 - $280,000.
