Software Engineering Lead
About the role
As a hands-on individual contributor, you will lead the development and maintenance of innovative, scalable, and secure applications that support the firm’s strategic objectives. Your expertise in front-end and back-end development, cloud infrastructure, vendor implementation and integration, and automation will be critical in building transformative digital products. You will establish technical direction, contribute directly to implementation, guide engineers, and coordinate third-party platform providers and implementation partners. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to translate business requirements into reliable, intuitive, and maintainable technical solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, development, and maintenance of secure, n-tier enterprise applications, combining robust backend services using C# and .NET with scalable, reusable frontends using React 18+, TypeScript, and component-based UI frameworks such as MUI.
- Design and integrate resilient connections across external APIs, internal systems, and vendor platforms.
- Serve as the technical lead and an active contributor throughout implementation, including application development, configuration, integration, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Drive CI/CD excellence through automated testing (unit, integration, end-to-end), strong debugging practices, and adherence to security-first coding standards to protect sensitive client data.
- Review technical designs, code, test coverage, and implementation deliverables to ensure quality, security, scalability, and alignment with established standards.
- Mentor engineers, contribute to code reviews, promote best practices, and maintain clear technical documentation.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Business Solution Engineers, QA, and business stakeholders, to ensure successful project delivery.
- Clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, including system design, development, testing, and production support.
- Hands-on experience with modern full-stack development and cloud-native application development.
- Experience building modern web applications using React (18+), TypeScript, and component-based UI frameworks (e.g., MUI).
- Solid experience with API design and integration (REST, GraphQL) and distributed systems.
- Strong understanding of relational databases, SQL optimization, and data modeling.
- Experience with system architecture, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, production support, debugging, and security-first development practices.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical delivery, contribute directly to implementation, mentor engineers, review technical work, and coordinate third-party vendors or system integrators.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and explain complex technical concepts clearly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with AWS services, such as ECS/EKS or Lambda, API Gateway, S3, RDS/Aurora, DynamoDB, SNS/SQS, CloudWatch.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and tools.
- Experience in developing portfolio management and trading applications and working with third-party wealth management and order management platforms.
Pay
The base salary range for this position is $200,000 - $230,000 per year. This position may also be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan and other compensation programs as applicable.
