Software Engineering Internship - Summer 2027

About the role

The internship provides insight into our culture and an inward look into what our business is all about. You will participate in three classroom learning experiences including: a week-long Basics of Options class, a multi-week class on the fundamentals of market making (Mock Trading), and a multi-week class that introduces elements of our quant framework (Quant Curriculum).

Responsibilities

• Deliver a technical project in an impactful role mirroring that of a full-time Software Engineering Associate
• Receive mentorship from members of our technology team
• Work alongside software engineers designing, solving and testing complex coding problems that will deliver solutions to our trading tools and risk applications
• Build the tools traders and quants rely on to price, trade, and manage risk in real time
• Watch your code reach production and affect the desk almost immediately
• Work in an environment that actively explores and applies emerging technologies — including AI — to enhance trading, engineering, and research workflows

Requirements

• You are pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a similar technical field with Java, C++, or Python experience
• You will graduate between December 2027-June 2028
• You have a demonstrated record of success (academics, awards, etc.)
• You are willing to relocate to Chicago, IL for the summer (most full-time offers will be in Chicago with a limited few in New York, NY)
• You can participate in the full duration of the 8-week program from mid-June to early August 2027

Qualifications

• A foundation in data structures, object-oriented programming and algorithms, and the ability to apply them to real-world problems
• An interest in learning about technology, trading, pricing and risk management
