About the Raytheon Fellowship Program
Seeking students in their sophomore or junior year or seniors if pursuing a master's. Upon program acceptance, participants will be submitted for a national security clearance. Participants may be eligible to receive a $10,000 signing bonus, and an additional $10,000 signing bonus upon converting to full-time employee status post-graduation (payable within 60 days of employment and subject to all applicable withholdings). Participants will sign an offer agreement, committing to remain with Raytheon for a minimum of two years after becoming a full-time employee.
What You Will Do
Work as a software developer and integrator as part of a development team which utilizes a diverse dynamic workforce, including many experts in their fields.
- Responsible for performing development, integration, test and documentation duties to ensure proper operation of hardware and software platforms
- Integrate a wide variety of applications from various sources, integrate and ensure they meet performance standards for stability and resource utilization
- Develop software as necessary to integrate between components, perform new capabilities, to facilitate testing, etc.
- Adhere to accepted standards for development, including writing unit tests which provide a high percentage of code coverage, participating in code peer reviews, conducting design reviews, and generating test plans to ensure maximum stability and quality of code
Qualifications You Must Have
- Enrolled in a Bachelor's (or higher) degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related field and will be at minimum Sophomore, Junior, Senior or Post Grad year by summer 2027
- Software development experience with Java and Unix/Linux
- Software development experience with C++ or C#
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, Bash, Ruby or R and familiarity with a JavaScript framework such as React, Angular, Vue.js or Next.js
- Experience with version control software such as GitLab or CVS
- Experience with continuous integration tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI/CD
- Experience or familiarity with SAFe Agile development practices
