Software Engineering Intern
About the Role
Availity delivers revenue cycle and related business solutions for health care professionals. The Engineering function ensures business objectives are met through the creation, development, design, and improvement of products and services. As a Software Engineering Intern on the Cloud Analytics & Healthcare Platform Team (ePro Engineering — Tiger Team), you will contribute to building tools that validate and analyze healthcare data within our cloud pipeline.
Responsibilities
- Build an internal tool to browse and validate event data flowing through our cloud pipeline (S3, Firehose).
- Check field completeness, flag records that don't match expected schemas, and surface data gaps.
- Write SQL queries and build views over large healthcare datasets in AWS (Athena, S3).
Requirements
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- SQL experience (coursework or projects).
- JavaScript/React experience is a plus (the tool will have a web UI).
- Python is a plus.
- Detail-oriented — healthcare data accuracy matters.
- Comfortable asking questions and working in a fast-paced team.
