Software Engineering Intern — Agentic AI & Fintech

Location: Remote; team based in Santa Clara

Term: Fall 2026, approximately 12 weeks
Commitment: 12–20 hours per week with flexible scheduling

Verric is building agentic AI workflow infrastructure for private equity and finance. About the role

As the Software Engineering Intern, you will work directly with Verric’s leadership and technical mentors on software research, experimentation, prototyping, and project coordination. This is a learning-focused role that combines software engineering, agentic AI, financial technology, startup exposure, and team leadership. You will contribute research and recommendations that may inform Verric’s development while gaining practical experience inside an early-stage company.

Responsibilities

• Research software frameworks, agentic AI tools, and emerging technical approaches.
• Learn how AI agents are designed, connected, tested, and evaluated.
• Create proof-of-concept features and experimental prototypes.
• Explore responsible applications of agentic AI in private equity and finance.
• Compare potential frontend, backend, database, AI, and deployment solutions.
• Assist with testing, debugging, quality assurance, and technical documentation.
• Research approaches to data privacy, security, accuracy, and AI reliability.
• Review interface designs and recommend usability improvements.
• Present technical findings and recommendations to Verric’s leadership.
• Participate in product-planning and startup-strategy discussions.
• Help organize assignments and track progress across internship projects.
• Coordinate with other interns and gain practical team-management experience.
• Document experiments, conclusions, and lessons learned.

Requirements

• Eligibility: Open to students, recent graduates, self-taught developers, career changers, and early-career professionals. A computer science degree is not required.
• Applicants should have completed at least one technical project. This can be a personal project, class assignment, website, application, research project, game, or early-stage product.

Skills

Experience with some of the following is helpful:

• JavaScript or TypeScript

• React, Next.js, or another modern frontend framework
• HTML and CSS
• APIs and database fundamentals

• Large language models or AI-development tools
• Technical research and documentation

You do not need to know everything listed above. Previous experience with agentic AI, private equity, or finance is helpful but not required. We care most about curiosity, initiative, reliability, clear communication, and your ability to learn quickly.
