SOFTWARE ENGINEERING CO-OP (Linux/Platform)

About the role

REDCOM Laboratories, Inc., a U.S. company specializing in advanced communication solutions, is seeking a Software Engineering Co-Op to join their team from June to December 2026. This is a hybrid position, requiring occasional in-office work.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support applications providing secure real-time voice, video, and chat communication capabilities.
• Work on developing and porting applications and/or device drivers for secure real-time communications (including VoIP and RoIP).
• Use C++ and other programming/scripting languages as needed.
• Collaborate with a team in an Agile/Scrum environment, participating in unit testing, code reviews, and continuous integration.

Requirements

• Absenteeism is not permitted during scheduled work hours.
• Must be actively pursuing a BS or MS in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Prioritization of Sophomore and Junior year students; preference given to those who can commit to a full-time Co-Op position.
• Working knowledge of Unix/Linux environments, modern C++, object-oriented design, and version control systems like git.
• Basic computer science fundamentals including data structures, design patterns, and algorithms.
• Basic knowledge of IP/Networking.

Qualifications

• Strong academic performance in relevant fields.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies quickly.

Skills

• C++ programming.
• Object-oriented design and architecture.
• Version control systems (git).
• Unix/Linux environments.
• IP/Networking fundamentals.
