About the role

A Software Engineer (SME) is needed to support Government activities at Chantilly, VA. GDIT seeks an experienced Software Engineer Full Stack Developer to build scalable, maintainable, and high-performance applications.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage application frontend and/or backend framework and technologies
  • Work closely with the development team to build reusable UI components, optimize UI performance, and ensure accessibility
  • Support Government activities at Chantilly, VA

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
  • Experience: 15+ years
  • Required skills: Proven experience developing web and client/server applications using Java, TypeScript/JavaScript, HTML, and CSS; strong, practical experience with Spring Boot and Hibernate/JPAD; demonstrated success upgrading legacy Spring Boot and Hibernate/JPA environments to modern versions; hands-on experience using modern frontend frameworks such as Vue, React, or Angular; solid background in relational database design and querying (SQL, Oracle); proficiency with Git-based version control (GitHub, GitLab, etc.); experience designing and building RESTful APIs and backend services; experience working within an Agile development environment; ability to plan, direct, and coordinate technical activities, including system analysis and oversight of internal technical roadmaps; capability to define long-term strategic objectives and ensure solutions meet end-user needs; experience leading horizontal integration efforts and collaborating across functional teams to ensure aligned delivery of technical solutions and timelines; demonstrated ability to work independently on both routine tasks and new initiatives; experience researching emerging technologies, assessing their potential impact, and preparing systems to adapt to upcoming changes.

Pay

The likely salary range for this position is $185,057 - $250,371. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
