Software Engineer SWE3 [D.26.0167]

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of UI/front-end developers, providing technical guidance, standards, and code review
• Architect and implement scalable, maintainable front-end solutions using modern frameworks
• Translate prototypes and design specifications into functional, responsive, and accessible interfaces
• Collaborate with backend engineers to design and integrate APIs, ensuring efficient data flow between front-end and back-end systems
• Contribute to full-stack development efforts as needed, including backend services, database interactions, and deployment pipelines
• Establish and enforce front-end coding standards, best practices, and component reuse across the team
• Partner with UX/UI and systems engineers to ensure design intent is preserved through implementation
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, cross-browser issues, and technical debt
• Participate in sprint planning, technical estimation, and architectural decision-making
• Ensure compliance with accessibility standards (e.g., Section 508, WCAG) throughout development

Requirements

• Proven experience leading or mentoring a development team
• Strong proficiency in modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue) and standard web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
• Full-stack experience, including backend development (e.g., Node.js, Python, Java, RESTful/GraphQL API design)
• Familiarity with state management, component-based architecture, and responsive design
• Experience with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GovCloud is a plus)
• Experience working closely with UX/UI and systems engineers to ensure accurate implementation of accessible interfaces
• Experience working with tiered architectural systems and in a Linux/Ubuntu environment is a plus
• Twelve (12) years experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
• Absence of a bachelor's degree requires four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes
• Seven (7) years' experience in Software Database and Repository Interface Development
