About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our innovative team working on Bolt, McKesson's AI-first platform designed for rapid enterprise application development. This platform revolutionizes how software is built by allowing teams to describe their intent, which Bolt's intelligent agent harness transforms into enterprise-grade, production-ready software. The platform emphasizes security, design standards, and data integrity from the initial development phase.

In this role, you will be instrumental in designing and building core components of the Bolt harness, developing tooling to enhance agentic development reliability, and strengthening enterprise security and verification layers. You will own the end-to-end process from specification to deployment across multiple environments, including CI/CD pipelines and secrets management. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of AI-assisted software development, building infrastructure that enables safe, scalable, and efficient enterprise solutions. You will collaborate with a talented team, set technical standards, and mentor junior engineers to ensure high-quality deliverables and innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop core components of the Bolt harness, including skills, commands, platform tools, and safety guardrails to ensure secure and standards-compliant AI-generated code
  • Create tooling to improve reliability and efficiency of agentic development, such as orchestration, context management, and reusable templates
  • Enhance enterprise guarantees by designing systems for shift-left security, data integration, and automated verification and validation processes
  • Manage the entire software development lifecycle from specifications to deployment across multiple environments, including CI/CD pipelines and secrets management
  • Set technical standards through architecture reviews, code reviews, and mentorship to ensure high-quality deliverables
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new features and optimize platform performance
  • Stay abreast of emerging AI technologies and incorporate best practices into platform development

Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • 5+ years of experience in building and shipping production software
  • Strong fundamentals in system design and architecture
  • Proficiency in full-stack development with TypeScript, Python, Go, and modern frontend and backend technologies
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure and IaaS platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Hands-on experience with containers, orchestration, and CI/CD pipelines in enterprise environments
  • Proven automation mindset with a track record of eliminating toil and building scalable solutions
  • Customer-focused approach with the ability to ground technical decisions in user needs
  • Genuine interest and passion for the evolving AI landscape and agentic development
  • Experience owning projects from ambiguity to launch and delivering results
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive, action-oriented mindset

Benefits

  • Competitive salary aligned with experience and performance
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plans
  • Flexible work hours and remote work options
  • Opportunities for professional growth and development
  • Collaborative and inclusive work environment
  • Paid time off and holiday benefits
  • Participation in company-wide wellness programs and initiatives
  • Long-term incentive opportunities and performance bonuses
