CACI is seeking an enthusiastic Software Engineer SME to work on a large, long-term program addressing real-world challenges. This role offers the opportunity to contribute as part of a small, innovative team focused on mission-critical software solutions.
Responsibilities
- Collaboratively create mission-critical software applications in close coordination with users to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in their mission execution.
- Provide software design and development expertise for new applications using test-driven and iterative methodologies.
- Maintain a multi-year track record of on-time and on-schedule deliveries through teamwork and technical excellence.
- Demonstrate self-direction, strong technical expertise, and a user-first mindset while collaborating respectfully with teammates.
- Participate in a responsive team environment where communication and problem-solving are critical to success.
- Engage in new development starting with requirements analysis and design, providing compliant technical solutions during development.
- Support testing, integration, and deployment of the software baseline.
- Apply good development and configuration management practices, with prior experience in software development.
- Act as a recognized subject matter expert, managing large projects and coaching lower-level technical team members.
- Work with limited oversight, addressing complex problems and influencing policies, practices, and procedures.
Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI clearance required to begin employment.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science, information technology, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
- Experience with both Object-Oriented and Functional Programming approaches.
- Proficiency in Java, JMS, Angular, Hibernate, Camel, and Spring.
- Experience with REST, Web services, and service-based development.
- Experience with messaging technologies such as ActiveMQ, Kafka, or similar products.
- Experience with software testing (e.g., JUnit, automated test tools).
- Experience with Linux shell scripting and build tools (e.g., Maven, Gradle).
- Experience with socket interface communications and/or Java Network Programming.
- Experience with Java Security and Cryptology (PKI Certificates).
- Experience with Linux operating systems.
Desired Experience
- AMQP, EJBs, Java Threads, JDBC, React, JSON, and XML.
- Relational, NoSQL, and file-based storage products.
- Security+ Certification.
- Understanding of Amazon Web Services.
- Familiarity with GitLab and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes.
- Experience with software configuration management processes and tools.
- Knowledge of Intelligence Community (IC) processes, policies, and guidance.

Pay
The proposed salary range for this position is $98,500–$206,800. Final salary will be influenced by factors such as geographic location, contract labor categories, relevant prior work experience, specific skills, education, and certifications.
Up to 10% local travel may be required. This is a full-time position.
