Software Engineer Senior Staff (TS/SCI Required)
This position requires an active TS/Sensitive Compartmental Information (SCI) clearance with the ability to obtain a Counterintelligence polygraph to be considered. A government contract requires that this position be restricted to U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents. You must provide documentation that you are a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident to qualify.
About the role
Cherokee Preting is seeking a Software Engineer to support the Erebus Program in St. Louis, MO. The Erebus Program is a newly awarded 7-year effort that delivers cutting-edge intelligence and geospatial data management applications and services to the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA).
Responsibilities
- Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities.
- Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment.
- Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle.
- Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software.
- Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
- Ensures software standards are met.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Current TS/SCI with the willingness and ability to obtain a Counterintelligence polygraph.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field with nine (9) years of related experience OR Master’s Degree with seven (7) years of related experience.
- Knowledge and experience developing multi-tiered or microservice applications.
- Experience with at least one cloud platform (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google).
- Containerization experience (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
- Proficiency in CI/CD tools (GitLab CI, Jenkins).
- Strong scripting experience.
- Linux experience.
- Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
