Software Engineer Senior Consultant II - National General
About the role
National General, part of The Allstate Corporation, offers home, auto, accident, health insurance, and other specialty niche insurance products through a large network of independent insurance agents and directly to consumers. As a Software Engineer Senior Consultant II, you will implement applications following 12-factor principles to build out products and iterative enhancements. You will own the full stack of software products, developing and implementing frontends (web or mobile) and backend services.
Responsibilities
- Provide input into the architecture and design of the product; collaborate with the team in solving problems the right way.
- Practice daily paired programming and test-driven development in writing software and building product.
- Participate in executing the strategy, keeping customer needs and wants in mind.
- Serve as an expert on a specific business domain and demonstrate leadership and accountability on at least one technology stack.
- Coach more junior team members around different technologies and XP practices.
- Establish continuous integration, continuous delivery, and continuous deployment pipelines and practices.
- Provide support for software products in user environments.
- Lead and participate in daily site, cross-site, and product team standups.
- Participate in retrospectives to gather feedback and derive actionable items to improve the team and the product.
- Participate in iteration planning meetings ensuring the team has a common understanding of each story and chores in a team’s backlog.
Requirements
- 3 or more years of experience in software development (preferred).

Pay
Base compensation offered for this role is $90,700.00 - $140,000.00 annually, based on experience and qualifications. Total compensation includes base pay plus incentive pay (e.g., commission, bonus) as applicable.
