Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and scale CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
- Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) across hybrid cloud GCP and on-prem environments.
- Design, develop, and maintain microservices and RESTful APIs that power platform capabilities and internal tooling.
- Automate deployments and manage container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, GKE) utilizing Helm charts.
- Drive platform resilience by improving monitoring, logging, and observability using tools like Splunk.
- Champion DevSecOps by embedding security and compliance controls directly into pipelines and infrastructure.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to troubleshoot and resolve complex platform and application issues.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, operations, and security teams to improve system reliability.
Qualifications
- 6+ years in DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering plus a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- In-depth knowledge of modern cloud architectures (AWS/Azure/GCP (preferred)) and IaC (Terraform).
- Deep hands-on experience with Kubernetes, GKE, and managing deployments via Helm.
- Hands-on experience building pipelines with GitHub Actions.
- Hands-on experience building microservices and RESTful APIs (Python, Java, or similar).
- Proficient scripting skills (Bash, PowerShell) for automation and operational tasks.
- Experience in setting up and managing monitoring and logging platforms like Splunk.
- Experience working in Financial Services, HealthTech, or other highly regulated industries requiring stringent compliance, security, and data privacy.
- Familiarity with tools like Azure DevOps, Jira, and ServiceNow.
- Familiarity with security scanning/SCA tools (Checkmarx, Nexus IQ) and AI development assistants (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) is a plus.
Location
This position has a hybrid work from home schedule with a minimum of three days per week in the office at the new Zions Technology Center in Midvale, UT. The Zions Technology Center is a 400,000-square-foot technology campus in Midvale, Utah. Located on the former Sharon Steel Mill superfund site, the sustainably built campus is the company’s primary technology and operations center.
