About The Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Agentic Platform Engineer to join Docker’s dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining the foundational infrastructure that powers the next generation of AI-driven workflows. You will work on the core agent execution runtime, orchestration primitives, and cloud infrastructure that ensures the Agentic Platform runs seamlessly 24/7.
This is a high-ownership position where you will not only develop systems but also operate them, respond to failures, and lead continuous improvements across the entire stack. The role offers a unique greenfield opportunity to influence how AI agents are built and operated at scale, collaborating with seasoned engineers and cross-functional teams focused on AI infrastructure, developer experience, and platform reliability.

- Deep understanding of distributed systems design, fault tolerance, scalability, and observability in cloud-native environments
- Strong proficiency in at least one backend programming language such as Go, Python, Rust, or Java
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

- Build platform capabilities supporting AI-assisted coding workflows, such as IDE integrations and local development environments
- Own and operate cloud infrastructure services in AWS or OCI, managing provisioning, scaling, cost, and reliability
- Manage infrastructure using Terraform and Kubernetes deployment with Helm
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation, ensuring high availability and rapid incident response
- Define and monitor Service Level Objectives (SLOs), lead incident response efforts, and conduct blameless post-mortems to improve system reliability
- Implement observability solutions including distributed tracing, structured logging, metrics dashboards, and alerting systems
- Promote a culture of engineering excellence through design reviews, RFC processes, and mentorship
- Drive architectural decisions that balance development velocity with long-term maintainability in a cloud-native environment
