Software Engineer_Python (Hybrid - Baltimore, MD)
About the role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Python developer to join our technology team. You will be responsible for designing, developing, adapting, and implementing solutions to meet our information technology needs. Your work will encompass new and existing applications, systems, databases, and associated infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Utilize internal tools to manage AWS-based services.
- Integrate with RESTful and GRPC APIs.
- Contribute to unit and integration testing, and maintain and enhance our CI/CD pipeline.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Approach problems systematically and make informed tactical and strategic decisions.
- Demonstrate flexibility and adapt solutions as new information emerges.
- Mentor junior team members, offering support and guidance in a way that builds their confidence.
- Proactively assist colleagues and suggest improvements to team practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years of progressive experience working with Python
- Hands-on experience with AWS services such as ECS, Fargate, Lambda, SNS, SQS, S3, DynamoDB, Application Load Balancers, CloudFront, CloudWatch, IAM, and others
- Experience with Python frameworks and tools (e.g., NumPy, Pandas)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a results-oriented mindset
- Familiarity with multiple programming paradigms (object-oriented, functional) and solid grasp of software design patterns
- Dedication to quality through automated testing, code reviews, and continuous integration/delivery
Preferred
- Familiarity with R is highly preferred
- Strong understanding of financial markets and instruments
- Demonstrated ability and enthusiasm for learning new technologies

Work Flexibility
This role is eligible for hybrid work, with up to three days per week from home.
