Software Engineer - Print Pipeline

Job Summary

The Software team at Formlabs is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to develop world-class desktop 3D printer software with a focus on geometric algorithms. This role involves working with R&D teams to integrate new features into the production PreForm codebase, shipping value-generating features to tens of thousands of users, and collaborating with Product Management teams to define long-term feature roadmaps.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize complex algorithms for path planning, tool path generation, motor control, print success estimation, geometry manipulation, support structure generation, and real-time print failure detection.
• Collaborate with R&D teams to integrate newly researched features into the PreForm codebase.
• Ship value-generating features to tens of thousands of users by implementing and optimizing algorithms.
• Work with Product Management teams to define long-term feature roadmaps.

Requirements

• Extensive experience writing C++ code for desktop applications.
• Experience collaborating with a wide range of technical disciplines, including Software, Hardware, and Design teams.
• Experience with object-oriented design and development.
• Experience developing 3D graphics or computational geometry.

Qualifications

• Experience with solid mechanics or FEM.
• Experience with image processing.

Compensation

The Annual Base Pay Range For This Role Is $120,000—$170,000 USD.
