Software Engineer/Principal Software Engineer–Java (TS/SCI-CI Poly) (AHT)

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Java-based software applications in support of NASIC mission systems.
• Implement new features and enhance existing capabilities using modern Java frameworks and tools.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and performance issues in development, test, and operational environments.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and test procedures.

Requirements

• Software Engineer (level 2): Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline with 2 years software development experience OR a master’s degree in a STEM discipline.
• Principal Software Engineer (level 3): Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline with 5 years software development experience OR a master’s degree in a STEM discipline with 3 years’ experience.
• Active Department of Defense Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance.
• Active Counter-Intelligence (CI) Polygraph.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in developing software in Java (e.g., core Java, JEE, Spring, or similar frameworks).
• Experience with object-oriented design principles, data structures, and algorithms.
• Ability to work in a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF), following all applicable security and handling procedures.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline with 2 years software development experience OR a master’s degree in a STEM discipline for Software Engineer (level 2).
• Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline with 5 years software development experience OR a master’s degree in a STEM discipline with 3 years’ experience for Principal Software Engineer (level 3).
• Three years’ experience in developing software in Java (e.g., core Java, JEE, Spring, or similar frameworks).
• Experience with object-oriented design principles, data structures, and algorithms.
• Experience integrating Java applications with RESTful services, message queues, and/or microservices architectures (preferred).
• Experience with additional programming or scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell (preferred).
• Experience with security compliance, secure coding practices, and related security scanning tools (preferred).

Skills

• Strong Java programming skills.

Pay

• Primary Level Salary Range: $83,400.00 - $125,200.00
• Secondary Level Salary Range: $103,600.00 - $155,400.00

Schedule

• Travel: Yes, 10% of the Time
