Software Engineer, New Grad - Defense
About the Role
Software Engineers at Palantir build software at scale to transform how organizations around the world use data. In this role, you’ll contribute high-quality code directly to Palantir Gotham, products deployed at critical institutions across government, defense, and non-profit sectors. You'll create features used by diverse professionals globally, from research scientists to intelligence analysts.
Responsibilities
- Involvement throughout the product lifecycle: idea generation, design, prototyping, execution, and shipping.
- Collaboration with technical and non-technical counterparts to understand customer problems and build solutions.
- Opportunities to visit customers (e.g., touring an auto-manufacturer’s assembly line or working with a counter-terror analyst) to deeply understand their needs.
Qualifications
- Active US Security clearance or eligibility and willingness to obtain one.
- Engineering background in fields such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, or Physics.
- Familiarity with data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, front-end frameworks, and other technical tools.
- Experience coding in languages like Java, C++, Python, JavaScript, or similar.
Skills
- Ability to write clean, effective code and learn new languages quickly.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with diverse teams, including engineers, users, and non-technical members.
- Willingness to learn independently, make decisions, and ask effective questions.

Pay
The estimated salary range for this position is $145,000 - $155,000/year. Total compensation may include Restricted Stock units, a sign-on bonus, and other potential incentives.
