Software Engineer, New Grad

About the role

IXL Learning, a leading provider of personalized learning products used globally, seeks New Grad Software Engineers to contribute to the development of innovative educational products and features.

Responsibilities

• Build the back-end wiring, application logic, and UI for engaging users.
• Add features and create new products using the best technologies.
• Involvement in all aspects of the development process, including design, coding, testing, debugging, and tuning.
• Own projects from start to end as they progress through the fast-paced development cycle.
• Collaborate with other teams to design products meeting the needs of students and teachers worldwide.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in computer science or a related field.
• Excellent programming skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and with diverse teams.
• Knowledge of Unix, Python, Java, SQL, or JavaScript is a plus.
• A passion for improving education through technology.

Qualifications

• Experience with Java, Python, TypeScript, React Native, JavaScript, and/or TypeScript.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Valkyrie for data storage.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and rapid development cycles.

Skills

• Proficiency in multiple programming languages and frameworks.
• Experience with cloud services like AWS.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly.
