Software Engineer - ML and Distributed Systems, Amazon Personalize
About the role
As part of the AWS Applied AI Solutions organization, we are building business applications that leverage Amazon’s unique experience and expertise to solve enduring business challenges for millions of companies worldwide. We blend vision with curiosity and real-world experience to create opinionated, turnkey solutions that customers prefer to buy over build. You will collaborate with product managers, scientists, and engineers to architect and develop a large-scale machine learning platform for Amazon Personalize, a deep learning AWS service that provides individualized recommendations.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to conceive, design, and bring innovative products and services to market.
- Design and build innovative technologies in a large distributed computing environment, driving fundamental changes in the industry.
- Create solutions to run predictions on distributed systems with exposure to cutting-edge technologies at incredible scale and speed.
- Build distributed storage, index, and query systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, low cost, and easy to manage.
- Design and code solutions starting with broadly defined problems, working in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software.
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems.
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

Pay
Base salary range: $165,200 - $223,600 USD annually (location: USA, CA, Mountain View). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
