Software Engineer Mid-Senior, Backend

About the role

Redi.Health was founded in 2021 with the goal of providing patients with limiting chronic diseases the ability to better navigate and take control over their health. Redi’s initial product provides a novel integration with pharmaceutical manufacturers that seamlessly connects patients with the brands that treat their condition(s).

Key Job Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy backend services and features using Ruby on Rails, owning well-scoped work end-to-end with support from senior engineers.
• Collaborate with product managers, front-end engineers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and turn them into working, tested code.
• Implement features and enhancements for our core platform with attention to performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Build and expand automated test coverage, and help keep our CI/CD pipelines healthy.
• Troubleshoot and debug production issues, escalating and partnering with the team when needed to keep our backend systems stable.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical work experience.
• 3+ years of experience in backend software development.
• Proficiency in Ruby and the Ruby on Rails framework.
• Solid understanding of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL), including schema design and writing efficient queries.
• Experience designing and consuming JSON APIs.
• Experience with backend testing frameworks and familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

Preferred (Bonus)

• Experience with microservices architecture or cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Familiarity with message queues or background processing systems (e.g., Redis, Sidekiq).
