Software Engineer - Mid Level

About the role

This position supports an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to assist with analyses, design, development, and verification of a lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements
• Integrates technical parameters and assures compatibility of all physical, functional, and program interfaces
• Optimizes total system of systems and/or system architecture
• Analyzes user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements
• Debugs existing software and corrects defects
• Provides recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards
• Designs and codes new software or modifies existing software to add new features
• Integrates existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments
• Develops simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience with Java software development
• Experience with generating and reviewing software/technical documentation
• Experience working in an Agile software development environment
• Experience using Jira and Confluence
• Experience with one or more of the following software development skills: React, CGI, Visual Basic, HTML, XML
• Experience assisting with development & execution of test procedures for software components
• Ensuring quality control of all developed and modified software

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited course of study and 7+ years of professional experience; an additional 4 years of experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree
• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph Clearance
• Desired Qualifications: Experience with AWS, Elasticsearch, Springboot, Kafka, Monolithic Springboot to Microservices, Hibernate/JPA
