About the role
Northrop Grumman Space Systems Sector is seeking a Software Engineer to join a special program supporting a scalable and expeditionary intelligence ground station that leverages space, high altitude, aerial and terrestrial layer sensors to provide targetable data to commanders at all levels for rapid threat assessment.
What You'll Get to Do
- Work on an agile development team using modern development practices
- Tackle both new development and operational support
- Work on programs in all phases of the development and operational lifecycle, from smaller single scrum team efforts to larger multi-team efforts (some leveraging remote teams from other Northrop Grumman sites)
- Engage with programs using micro-service event driven architecture with Docker Containers and Kubernetes
- Deepen skills on one program or seek other internal opportunities over time to broaden skills, experiences, and mission exposure
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in science with 8+ years of software development experience; 6+ years with a Master's; or 4 additional years of relative experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Current and active Top Secret/SCI security clearance required at time of application
- Experience designing, developing, and troubleshooting using object-oriented programming (Java)
- Experience with Container Management (Dockers and Docker-Compose) and networking with containers
- Comfortable using git, including branching, merging, and resolving merge conflicts
- Experience in Spring, Vue, GIT, Agile, Elasticsearch, and Maven
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Agile Methodology and Continuous Integration (CI) / Continuous Deployment (CD) Tools (Jenkins, Gitlab) and Practices
- Experience with software system integration, testing, and deployment, including but not limited to automation
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
- Quick learning, comfortable with learning new technical concepts and new libraries and APIs
Pay & Benefits
- Salary range: $91,800.00 - $137,600.00
- Overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonus may be available in addition to base pay
