You'll be joining our Aurora Software and Electronics/Payloads Department which has ~200 Software Engineers, DevOps Engineers, Systems Administrators, Database Administrators, Network Engineers, and Engineering Leaders from entry-level to the most senior chief engineers and architects to Product Owners and Scrum Masters. This engineering organization supports numerous programs across Divisions and Business Units of the Space Sector. Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
• Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
• Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
• Prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
• Ensures software standards are met.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Science with 8+ years of relative experience; 6+ years with a Master's; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Active DoD Top Secret (TS) clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility at time of application.

Skills

• Proficiency in C/C++ including concepts of threading and use of shared memory.
• Shell scripting and Python.
• Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence).
• Experience with containerization (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Ability to troubleshoot, make bug fixes, and code improvements.

Pay

Primary level salary range: $142,200.00 – $213,400.00. The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
