Software Engineer Level 2

About the role

This position supports a Ground program and requires software development experience, including the ability to adapt to changes and integrate systems using a data-driven design approach. The role involves handling diverse assignments in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop applications on Linux/Unix operating systems
• Work with Agile principles and Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)
• Implement asynchronous messaging systems (e.g., NATS, ActiveMQ, gRPC, etc.)
• Develop security/reliable code (Unit Test, Code Coverage, SonarQube scans, Fortify)
• Develop container-based applications (podman/docker, horizontal scaling, etc.)
• Implement a Data Centric software design (data schemas, data formats)

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of software development experience
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access
• Experience developing Mission Management and Control software for Satellite Ground Systems
• Proficiency in developing software using C++ and Python

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of software development experience, or Master’s degree
• Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems
• Exposure to Agile principles and Atlassian tools
• Basic understanding of asynchronous messaging systems
• Working knowledge of server-side languages (Python, C++, Node.js, Go, Java)
• Familiarity with integration best practices
