Software Engineer - Junior Level

About the role

We are seeking a Junior-Level Software Engineer with a full-stack capabilities to design, build, test and maintain scalable software systems. This role will play a part in creating front-end and backend services, developing APIs, and collaborating with development team to deliver reliable, high-performance applications.

Responsibilities

• Writing and maintaining source code
• Creating and maintaining software applications
• Applying frameworks involved in a software release life cycle
• Managing configuration, testing, and bug fixing
• Developing products, solutions, processes using basic principles, theories, and concepts within own technical specialty
• Communicating with peers to explain facts, basic analysis, processes, and practices related to area

Requirements

• Typically requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, related field, or prior relevant, equivalent experience in software development
• Must hold an active Secret security clearance
• Expertise in one or more programming language is required
• Works on day-to-day objectives with limited impact beyond the scope of own work area/project team
• Solves simple, routine technical problems following established procedures and policies
• Works under supervision on less complex projects/assignments

Qualifications

• Expertise in front end web application development in one or more programming languages is required
• Java, JavaScript, Spring Boot
• Knowledge of working with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.)
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Experience with Agile project management software such as Jira, Confluence, etc.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with version control systems such as Git
• Knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, and system scalability

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with frontend frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue)
• Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices interfaces
• Experience with Automated testing experience in end-to-end testing, regression testing, integration testing, etc.
• Spring Boot, Hibernate, Hibernate using native queries
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines such as Gitlab
• Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools (Hashicorp Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible)
• Experience with observability tools (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, Elastic Search)
