Software Engineer – Java

About the role

This is a high-impact position within a growing financial services team. You’ll work on modernizing legacy systems using cutting-edge Java-based technologies, collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams, and contribute to scalable, secure, and high-performance applications serving millions of users.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop RESTful APIs and microservices using Spring Boot framework
• Work with cross-functional Agile teams in an Agile/Scrum environment with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI)
• Contribute to the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performance applications
• Perform unit testing and integration testing using JUnit and other relevant tools
• Collaborate with team members to solve complex problems and improve processes
• Work on projects related to banking, financial services, or fintech domain

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Java development with strong proficiency in Spring Boot framework
• Strong working knowledge of Oracle Database, including SQL, PL/SQL, and performance tuning
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI)
• Proficiency in unit testing frameworks like JUnit and integration testing tools
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
• Banking, financial services, or fintech domain experience is a strong plus

Qualifications

• Onsite from Day 1 – Hybrid schedule (Mon–Thu onsite; Fri remote)
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is preferred but not required
• Familiarity with message brokers (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ) is a plus
• Knowledge of frontend technologies (e.g., React, Angular) for full-stack contributions is a plus
• Certifications in Java, Spring, or cloud technologies are a plus
