Software Engineer IV – Edge Computing
Job Summary
The Principal Edge Software Architect will define the structural integrity of Voyager Technologies' software across multiple product lines, ensuring alignment with Open Architecture principles and driving the long-term strategy for heterogeneous computing.
Responsibilities
Strategic Architecture: Define and enforce modular software architectures that ensure strict separation of concerns and maximize code reuse across different projects, focusing on hardware-agnostic GPU acceleration.
Algorithm Strategy: Oversee the implementation of complex signal processing and system autonomy algorithms, ensuring consistent system performance by leveraging edge AI and parallel processing capabilities.
Technical Leadership: Lead agile development cycles, mentor senior engineers in GPGPU best practices, and drive the adoption of modern DevSecOps.
Performance Engineering: Define system-level performance budgets (latency, thermal, SWaP) and architect software solutions that maximize the utility of embedded GPUs in constrained environments.
Customer Engagement: Lead technical discussions with customers and partners, articulating the value of our open software approach and ensuring our designs meet evolving government standards.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering from an accredited college/university.
U.S. Citizenship required due to program security requirements. Active clearance preferred.
Proven ability to lead engineering teams in a structured software product development environment.
Strong organizational and technical communication skills, including presenting to internal and government stakeholders.
Seven (7) years to ten (10) years of software engineering design experience.
Proven experience leading software engineering teams through full development lifecycle.
Preferences
Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering from an accredited college/university.
Experience optimizing software for SWaP (Size, Weight and Power) constrained environments.
Contributions to open-source projects in the systems or HPC ecosystems.
Experience with heterogeneous computing platforms (CPU/GPU/FPGA) and frameworks like NVIDIA, Jetpacks or Holoscan.
Skills
Architecture: Proven track record of architecting compliant systems using open standards (e.g., SOSA, FACE, MOSA).
Technical Depth: Deep knowledge of Computer Architecture (specifically GPU/NPU accelerators), RF Physics, or Digital Signal Processing.
Domain: Broad understanding of the defense mission space, including SIGINT, EW, or Communications capabilities.
Benefits
Comprehensive, total compensation package including competitive salary, a discretionary annual bonus plan, paid time off (PTO), a comprehensive health benefit package, retirement savings, wellness program, and various other benefits.
