Software Engineer IV, Artificial Intelligence
About the role
This role is responsible for contributing to X-energy's Artificial Intelligence (AI) Solutions Tiger Team that accelerates XE-100 nuclear reactor development workflows across business and engineering functions. Working under the leadership of the Artificial Intelligence function in a collaborative tiger team environment, this position requires expertise in at least one of the following areas: front-end development, agentic AI, data/systems integration, ML-Ops, or product management.
Responsibilities
- Agentic AI
- Work collaboratively in a tiger team environment to rapidly develop production-ready AI solutions.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of autonomous AI systems that enhance XE-100 reactor development.
- Document solutions and support knowledge transfer to relevant technical teams.
- Implement and maintain development best practices and quality standards.
- Perform work in accordance with X-energy quality assurance procedures.
- Maintain professional demeanor and behavior at all times in all forms of communication.
- Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
- Perform additional duties based on area of assignment:
- Front-end Development
- Data & Systems Integration
- ML-Ops
- Product Management
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, or related field from an accredited university or college.
- Experience with Git, GitLab, CI/CD, and modern development workflows.
- Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, and AI-enhanced development environments.
- Experience working in collaborative, fast-paced development teams.
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex technical concepts.

Qualifications
- Typically, ten years of experience in a relevant role required.
Pay
As required by Maryland and other applicable state law, X Energy, LLC (X-energy) lists the expected compensation range for a publicly advertised job opportunity based upon the job requirements (e.g. education/training, experience, skill sets, etc.). Individual candidates who meet the job requirements for the posted position will be offered a salary within this range based on their respective levels of education/training, experience, and other qualifications unique to them. Salary ranges may vary based on the specific office location and region referenced in the posting to take into consideration differences in cost of living and may not be reflective of all regions. Please note that compensation ranges listed for US job postings reflect base salary only and do not include benefits or other incentives. A reasonable estimate for this position at the level of experience required is: $144,000- $192,000.
