Software Engineer III

About the role

The DevOps Software Engineer will be part of a team responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining a comprehensive distributed Metrics and Monitoring solution for HPC systems to ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of HPC infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain a comprehensive distributed Metrics and Monitoring solution for HPC systems
• Ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of HPC infrastructure
• Develop Bash scripts to automate manual processes
• Use Rust and Python for software development
• Interface with Log Management tools including Syslog-ng and rsyslog
• Work with Message Brokers including Kafka
• Implement IaC (Infrastructure as Code) principles and automation tools including Ansible
• Follow CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools such as GitLab CI
• Use Git Source Control System

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI + FS Polygraph
• Master's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
• OR Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus 7 years of experience as a Software Engineer, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
• OR 9 years of experience as a Software Engineer, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity

Qualifications

• Experience using the Linux CLI and Linux Tools
• Experience developing Bash scripts to automate manual processes
• Recent software development experience using Rust and Python
• Experience using Splunk for data collection, message brokers, data storage, and presentation tools
• Experience with Message Brokers including Kafka
• Experience with IaC (Infrastructure as Code) principles and automation tools including Ansible
• Experience with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools such as GitLab CI
• Experience with Git Source Control System

Skills

• Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence)
• Experience with Elasticsearch
