About the Role

This position performs moderately difficult research, design, and software development assignments within a specific software functional area or product line. The role involves solving problems, designing program flow, effective coding, and unit testing.

Responsibilities

  • Interface with other technical personnel or team members to finalize requirements.
  • Write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity.
  • Work closely with other development team members to understand moderately complex product requirements and translate them into software designs.
  • Successfully implement development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews.
  • Operate in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders.
  • Resolve technical issues as necessary.
  • Keep abreast of new technology developments.
  • Complete moderately complex bug fixes.
  • Use AI-assisted and agentic development tools, under appropriate guidance, to accelerate software development, testing, debugging, and documentation.
  • Apply AI-first development workflows while reviewing and validating AI-generated code for correctness, quality, security, and maintainability.
  • Continuously learn and adopt emerging AI development tools and practices as part of the software development lifecycle.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of Software Engineering experience.
  • BS in Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Skills

  • Proficiency with data manipulation languages.
  • Understanding of data modeling principles and ability to work with complex data models.
  • Proficiency in development languages including but not limited to: Java/J2EE, JavaScript, JSP, C/C++, HTML, XML, SQL, Windows, UNIX, and .Net.
  • Familiarity with industry best practices, such as code coverage.
  • Ability to work well with internal and external technology resources.
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
  • Knowledge of data storage subsystems and test-driven development.
  • Basic knowledge of AI-assisted and agentic software development tools, such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Codex, Gemini, or similar tools.
  • Ability and desire to use AI-assisted development workflows to generate, refine, test, and debug code while applying sound software engineering practices.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.

Pay

U.S. National Base Pay Range: $78,800 - $131,300. Geographic differentials may apply in some locations to better reflect local market rates. This job is eligible for an annual incentive bonus.
