About the role
The Software Engineer II position supports software development for ATEC's surgical navigation and robotics platform. Responsibilities include designing, developing, testing, maintaining, and documenting software applications. This role also involves participating in all phases of product development, interfacing with various engineering disciplines, and supporting clinical and field teams.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement high-quality applications and frameworks targeting the Unix/Linux platform
- Design and implement application software in C++
- Aid product owners and senior engineers in analyzing future product features, including feasibility, effort, and technical tradeoffs
- Participate in integration and system-level testing of software and software/hardware systems
- Develop documentation related to software development projects (design artifacts, test plans/cases, etc.)
- Aid with technical support for field-deployed software applications as needed
- Collaborate with clinical and field teams to gather information, investigate issues, contribute to root-cause analysis, and help drive product improvements
- Support and participate in clinical prototyping, testing, and formal evaluation in cadaveric surgical lab settings
- Maintain rigorous version control, unit testing, and documentation to support regulatory evaluation and formal test efforts
Requirements
- Experience with commercial software development
- Experience with medical device software a plus
- Experience with C++ and Linux strongly preferred
- Experience with Agile software development methodologies, Git / Azure DevOps / Jira
- Experience in a government-regulated product environment desirable
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field preferred
Skills
- Strong programming skills in C++
- Experience with Linux operating system
- Experience with Agile methodologies
- Experience with version control systems (Git)
- Experience with project management tools (Jira)
- Experience with medical device software development
Benefits
Salary range: $95,000 - $110,000 annually
Full-time annual salary
