Software Engineer II (Security)
Aurora is seeking a Security Software Engineer II to join our team. This role involves implementing software to achieve Aurora's security goals, focusing on the secure design and implementation of technology for the onboard vehicle platform and cloud services.
About the Role
The Security Software Engineer II will contribute to the security architectural strategy, perform architecture reviews, review and propose threat models, conduct security code reviews, and manage release security for Aurora's products. The primary focus will be on designing and developing new security frameworks and technologies for our autonomous vehicle platform.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop new security components for our autonomous vehicle platform
- Build and embed security components within autonomy and infrastructure frameworks
- Work with partner teams to perform architectural design reviews of software, hardware, and services
Requirements
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- 2+ years of industry experience
- Ability and desire to write production-quality code in C++ and Golang
- Able to work effectively with other software engineers on design and code
- Able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences
- Able to translate product requirements into code independently
- Able to write high quality production code, unit tests, integration tests
Desirable Qualifications
- Familiarity with C++17 and STL/golang
- Understanding and explanation of autonomous vehicle security concepts
- Able to learn and create new C++ frameworks
- Able to write high quality production code, unit tests, integration tests
Pay & Benefits
The base salary range for this position is $126,000 - $181,500 per Year. Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
