About The Role

We are seeking a talented Software Engineer II specializing in Backend Engineering with matching experience in industry to join our Day to Day team at Indeed.

You will play a critical part in developing and enhancing machine learning and AI-powered systems designed for temporary job and jobseeker matching. You will work closely with product managers, engineers, and staffing agency partners to build scalable, efficient, and innovative solutions that improve the matching process.

Your expertise will contribute to designing, deploying, and maintaining systems that leverage advanced HR technology and machine learning capabilities. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of technological innovation in the employment sector, directly impacting the efficiency and effectiveness of staffing solutions across various regions.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field
  • 3+ years of industry experience as a software engineer
  • Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: Python, Java, Kotlin, C++, Go, Rust
  • Experience in designing, building, and deploying machine learning-powered matching systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills in fast-paced, collaborative environments
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and infrastructure as code tools like Terraform

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop machine learning and AI-enabled systems for temporary job and jobseeker matching
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and staffing agency partners, in an agile environment
  • Participate in product discovery processes, contributing ideas and solutions alongside product managers and staffing partners
  • Engage in code reviews to ensure high standards of code quality, maintainability, and cohesiveness
  • Work closely with stakeholders to align technical solutions with business needs and objectives
  • Perform ad hoc exploratory data analysis to inform system improvements and innovations
  • Mentor and support team members, promoting best practices in software engineering and development
