Software Engineer II (Java) - Lifecycle Experience

The Lifecycle Experience team aims to build a best-in-class customer experience for onboarding to Adyen's platform. Our product offers a one-stop solution to unlock access to a wide range of financial products and services. Tasks include identifying and verifying customer data, connecting payout accounts, ensuring compliance with local and global regulations, and securing legal entity data in motion and at rest.
At a high level, the team builds and maintains both API and UI integration methods and seeks to improve automation and compliance processes for users. Day-to-day work spans from adding fields to integrating with internal or third-party services for data enhancement, preparing platform launches in new regions, and more. Successful onboarding is ensured via a systematic API and intuitive UI to guide customers through the journey with minimal manual data entry or intervention from Adyen's operations teams.
You will research, create proofs of concept, integrate with external providers, and take any steps necessary to achieve this goal.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop API and UI solutions for customer onboarding.
- Integrate with internal and third-party services for data enhancement.
- Improve automation and compliance processes.
- Research and create proofs of concept (PoCs) for new features or integrations.
- Prepare and launch the platform in new regions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless onboarding experiences.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in the software development industry.
- Full professional proficiency in English.
- This role is based out of our Chicago office; we are an office-first company and value in-person collaboration.
Skills
- Experience with Java, Web Services, REST APIs, and SQL/PostgreSQL.
- Good understanding of software engineering practices and interest in product knowledge.
- Familiarity with complex, large-scale distributed systems.
- Ability to see the big picture and understand how your code impacts the business.

Pay
The annual base salary range for this role is $154,000 - $200,000.
