About the role

The Software Engineer is responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of the information systems (IS) and technologies needed for the management and analysis of research and clinical trials data. They contribute to the strategic vision, direction and operations of the Research Network by developing and implementing the information systems and software solutions required to meet the current and projected research needs of the Providence Research Network. This positions works directly with researchers on the design, testing and implementation of systems and infrastructure supporting modern research and software development/programming methodologies. They provide timely insight and advice to leadership to permit the leveraging of these technologies in future plans.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements information systems and software solutions to meet the current and projected research needs of the Providence Research Network.
  • Works directly with researchers on the design, testing and implementation of systems and infrastructure supporting modern research and software development/programming methodologies.
  • Provides timely insight and advice to leadership to permit the leveraging of these technologies in future plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related specialty.
  • 2 years Experience as a Software Developer/Engineer, Dev Ops or a position that had the same or similar primary duties.
  • 2 years Experience with software versioning and release management.
  • 2 years Experience with server management.
  • 2 years Experience coding in Ruby, JavaScript, HTML and similar languages.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1 year Experience in a Healthcare environment.
  • 1 year IT Project Management experience.

Skills

Software developers need to have strong programming skills, knowledge of software development methodologies, and experience working with databases and web technologies. They should also have excellent communication and collaboration skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay

The salary range for this position is determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors.

Schedule

This position works remotely and is open to candidates residing in: Alaska, Washington, Montana, Oregon, California, Texas, New Mexico, and California (except Humboldt).
