About the role

Space and Air division in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Software Engineer II (Embedded / Radar) to join the product development team for the Gen4 Tactical Airborne Radar group. This is an onsite position at our El Segundo, CA campus.

Responsibilities

  • Work on technical problems and provide innovative solutions with minimal guidance.
  • Contribute at all phases of the software development lifecycle, including software/hardware integration.
  • Develop real-time embedded software for various radar modes and capabilities.
  • Utilize investigation and troubleshooting skills to assess issues and develop solutions.
  • Collaborate with teams across multiple disciplines, both internal and external.
  • Participate in program and customer meetings/reviews.
  • Support team leads in technical decision-making, problem resolution, and ensuring performance to technical, cost, schedule, and quality standards.
  • Support system and software requirements and architecture generation and analysis as needed.

Requirements

  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Development experience coding in C, C++, ADA, or related languages/tools.
  • Experience working on UNIX, Linux, Windows, VxWorks, or other real-time operating systems (RTOS).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current DoD Secret and Top Secret clearance.
  • Introductory experience with design, code, integration, and test of software in large baselines and systems.
  • Proven ability to obtain Special Access Program (SAP) clearances.
  • Experience developing radar software applications.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum team environment using Agile-oriented tool suites.
  • Analytical skills for troubleshooting tool and system performance issues.
  • Experience with large complex systems such as airborne radars.

Pay

The salary range for this role is 75,800 USD – 144,200 USD. The range is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
