About the role
As a Software Engineer, Deploy II, you will join the Software Implementation team at iA. Your primary responsibility is to ensure that our products function as intended, efficiently, and cost-effectively. You will contribute to the design, validation, and execution of systems, as well as collaborate with clients to understand their needs and ensure successful project outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Serve as subject matter expert and internal support escalation point for NEXiA software implementations, upgrades, software-related projects, troubleshooting, workflow design, integrations, and configuration.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) efforts for customer-facing technical meetings, workshops, and go-live events.
- Execute structured deployment projects from discovery through post-go-live support.
- Aid in process improvements internally and cross-functionally, creating runbooks, checklists, procedures, and establishing best practices for scaling deployments.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Quality teams to enhance the installer and workflow experience.
- Execute and maintain PowerShell scripts as automation tools with documentation to improve deployment efficiency.
- Mentor Deploy I team members on technical and project leadership skills; participate in monthly knowledge sessions.
- Report on deployment metrics, readiness, and quality outcomes.
- Assist with escalations, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Lead deployments with cross-vendor integrations, accountable for cutover risk, rollback criteria, and operational readiness reviews.
- Act as Subject Matter Expert for deployment issues; conduct root cause analysis and drive corrective/preventive actions across Product, Engineering, and Quality.
- Maintain the automation backlog and PowerShell module library in ADO with execution documentation and change notes.
- Maintain projects in the team calendar and actively modify event details as they are known.
- Understand how to install, upgrade, and configure NEXiA software and become a subject-matter expert in iA’s NEXiA software solution.
- Lead assigned workstreams within a standard playbook; escalate risk/decisions to Software Engineer Deploy III or manager.
- Build strong client relationships; lead client-facing conversations on technical subjects for upgrades, implementations, or other software-related projects.
- Contribute to technical transformation thought leadership; demonstrate technical credibility and a consultative approach.
- Partner with Product Management and Customer Success organizations to assure alignment with Internal and External clients.
- Work closely with Software and Quality teams; help define the metrics and baseline for Post-Release Management Support.
- Quickly differentiate user and process errors from system errors while escalating each as appropriate towards resolution.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering; will consider tangible professional success instead of a degree.
- Obtained or will be pursuing Security+ certification.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Demonstrated root cause analysis and fault tree diagram experience.
- Good data analysis and interpretation skills.
- Ability to travel throughout the United States (can exceed 50%) Monday – Friday. Some weekends.
- Ability to obtain a customer required identification and certifications.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 Suite.
- Familiarity with Remote Desktop or remote access tools.
Qualifications
- Post-graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering.
- Experience with Beyond Trust.
- Proven ability to write queries using SQL Server.
- Advanced Windows Server, MSSQL, VM, Active Directory, DNS, IT Experience.
- Experience with modern DevOps practices: CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, CircleCI, Azure Pipelines, GitHub Actions), Configuration Management tools (Chef, Puppet, Ansible, SaltStack), Deployment Automation (Chocolatey, Windows Package Manager, PowerShell).
- Database Engineer / Architect / Administrator experience.

Pay
The estimated base annual salary range for this position is $90,000 to $121,989. However, a candidate's base yearly salary will be determined based on a range of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications and experience. This position may additionally be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
Schedule
Monday – Friday. Some weekends.
