Software Engineer II

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Design, code, test, integrate, and document software solutions.
• Work on problems with defined scope, schedule, and expectations.
• Participate in daily scrums, 2-3 week sprints, PI planning, demonstration and retrospective ceremonies.
• Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle.
• Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software.
• Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
• Ensures software standards are met.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent engineering/technical degree with a concentration in computer science courses.
• Experience: At least 2 years’ experience and proven performance in software engineering, including problem analysis and resolution, requirements analysis and definition, design, code, and integration testing.
• Ideal Skills and Experience: Able to collaborate with others while being able to handle independent tasking. Ability to learn new technologies quickly. Proven knowledge and experience applying design patterns and object-oriented programming. Experience with C++ and/or Java, Spring Boot and ReactJS. Candidate should be familiar with RedHat Enterprise Linux and git. Knowledge of container technologies and orchestration. Experience with combat systems, control systems.
