Software Engineer II
Samsara (NYSE: IOT) is the pioneer of the Connected Operations™ Cloud, a platform that enables organizations to harness IoT data to develop actionable insights and improve their physical operations. We help improve the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of industries representing over 40% of global GDP, including agriculture, construction, field services, transportation, and manufacturing. Our team is shaping product solutions such as Video-Based Safety, Vehicle Telematics, Apps and Driver Workflows, and Equipment Monitoring. As part of a recently public company, you’ll have the autonomy and support to make a lasting impact.
About the role
The Safety Triage & Insights team builds products and platforms that help customers review safety events, understand driver risk, and take action more effectively. We work across backend systems, APIs, and user-facing experiences to power safety event triage, supervisor workflows, driver insights, and related safety experiences. We are investing in AI-native product development, including LLM-powered workflows and agentic systems, to help customers transition from manual incident review to proactive and intelligent safety operations.
As a Software Engineer II on the team, you will own customer-facing features from concept to production, delivering experiences that improve customer workflows and drive meaningful business impact. You'll collaborate across Product, Design, and engineering to build scalable, AI-powered solutions while continuously improving the reliability and scalability of the systems you own. This is a remote position open to candidates residing in the US.
You should apply if
- You want to impact the industries that run our world: The software you build will help keep essential services operational, ensure food reaches grocery stores, and—most importantly—help workers return home safely.
- You want to build for scale: With over 2.3 million IoT devices deployed globally, you will work on technologies that drive scalable innovation for customers across industries.
- You are a life-long learner: We have ambitious goals, and every team member embraces a growth mindset as we tackle diverse technologies and challenges.
- You believe customers are more than a number: You’ll have the opportunity to engage directly with end users, participate in customer interviews, and use metrics to ensure your work delivers better outcomes.
- You are a team player: Our engineering teams balance independent effort and collaboration, motivated by our mission and committed to winning together.
