Pay

The compensation range considers a wide range of factors, including skill set, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate is not adjusted for geographic differential associated with the position.

Responsibilities

  • Provides application software development services or technical support typically in a defined project.
  • Follows One Call SDLC Standards.
  • Develops program logic for new applications or analyzes and modifies logic in existing applications.
  • Codes, tests, debugs, documents, implements, and maintains software applications.
  • Maintains, tests, and integrates application components.
  • Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of One Call systems and the workers compensation industry.
  • Participates in the planning and analysis phase of software development projects.
  • Analyzes requirements and translates business requirements into product designs.
  • Writes technical specifications and other forms of documentation.
  • Suggests technical alternatives and improves/streamlines processes and systems.
  • Completes project assignments and special projects commensurate with job expectations.
  • Conducts planning, analysis, and forecasting activities to plan projects and tasks.
  • May provide leadership and/or guidance to other technical professionals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
  • 2-5 years of application development experience (for Software Engineer II role).

Skills

  • Knowledge of end-to-end systems development life cycles (e.g., waterfall, iterative, agile, and other modern approaches to software development).
  • Proficiency in business modeling and requirements definition.
  • Excellent customer service skills that build high levels of customer satisfaction for internal and external customers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization.
  • Willingly shares relevant technical and/or industry knowledge and expertise with other resources.
  • Excellent problem-solving and time management skills.
  • Resourceful and proactive in gathering information and sharing ideas.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

This position is remote and will be performed in the colleague’s home. Work-from-home requirements include setting up computer equipment within a home office. Occasional in-person team meetings may be required depending on the position.

This job is primarily sedentary and may involve repetitive motions. The colleague must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods, operate a computer and other office equipment, assess information stored electronically, and converse/exchange accurate information with others simultaneously.

The colleague must be able to discern text displayed on a monitor, input data using a keyboard, and adjust focus to distances of up to three feet.

The colleague must manage moderate to significant mental stress due to a dynamic and heavy workload.
