Software Engineer II

About the role

Provide mid-level software engineer support for Navy mission systems. Develop and sustain applications used in operational readiness, training, and logistics. Ensure compliance with Fleet Training and Management Support (FTM) data interfaces and DoD cybersecurity controls.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy microservices, APIs, and user interfaces supporting fleet training workflows and readiness analytics
• Integrate applications with FTM data sources; implement role-based access and audit logging
• Write unit/integration tests; participate in code reviews and CI/CD pipelines
• Produce technical documentation and contribute to configuration management baselines
• Support Authority to Operate (ATO) sustainment tasks (STIGs, HBSS/ESS, SCAP scans)
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience, with three (3) to five (5) years of software development experience
• Proficient in one or more of: Python, Java, .NET, JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL
• Experience with REST/GraphQL, containers (Docker), and Git
• Familiarity with DoD RMF, STIGs, and secure coding practices
• Experience producing status reports, staffing plans, and risk communications
