Software Engineer II

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement solutions using varied technologies with a focus on scalability, latency, and resiliency.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to translate product requirements into well-defined technical solutions and deliver high-quality features.
- Write high-quality, maintainable code, develop clear technical designs, and participate in code and design reviews to ensure adherence to engineering standards and best practices.
- Contribute to the evolution of service architecture, data architecture, DevOps practices, infrastructure as code, deployment pipelines, and public cloud services as part of a collaborative software development team.
- Communicate development progress, risks, and technical trade-offs to stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers while leading by example through strong engineering practices.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including backlog grooming, sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives.
- Participate in on-call rotations to monitor production systems and investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve production incidents to maintain system reliability.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science (or a related field) or equivalent work experience.
- 4+ years of experience with Java and related frameworks - Spring Webflux and/or Spring Boot.
- 4+ years of experience building, deploying, testing APIs and microservices in a distributed systems environment.
- 2+ years of experience developing features using PostgreSQL or other SQL-based databases.
- 2+ years of experience in system design.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or similar tool.
- Experience with Playwright or similar automation testing tools.
- Experience with AWS cloud and Terraform.
- Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms.
- Experience with high-performing and scalable systems.
- Able to think independently and break down product requirements into well-defined tasks.
- Experience in monitoring the production environment, troubleshooting, triaging, and addressing production issues.
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience developing user interfaces using React.js, including component design, state management, TypeScript, and integration with RESTful APIs.
- Experience in e-commerce.

Pay
The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant. C08+ positions may also be eligible for annual bonus.
Schedule
Exempt salary team members have unlimited PTO, subject to manager approval. Team members will receive six paid holidays per year.
