Software Engineer II
Role Overview
We are seeking a Software Engineer II to join an existing full-stack team. This role involves working on components of a large project focused on building innovative new products. This engineer will support development tasks required to build, deploy, and support IoT-based solutions, working with both front-end and back-end applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop desktop applications, microservices, and RESTful APIs.
- Work within a Linux environment, deploying software via containers like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Collaborate with a team to identify and implement core functionalities for new products.
- Support the migration of applications from Windows to Linux-based solutions.
- Handle development work with a focus on execution and the ability to navigate ambiguity.
Required Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a similar field is required.
Experience: 5+ years of experience in software development and design, with an understanding of scalable, distributed software solutions. Experience should include a proven track record of designing and launching customer-facing products.
Technical Skills:
- Strong proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), with a preference for C#. Experience with Java or C++ is also acceptable.
- Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Azure. Familiarity with AWS or GCP is also valuable.
- Solid development experience in a Linux environment.
- Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.
- Understanding of RESTful APIs, SQL, and database concepts.
- Familiarity with Service-Oriented Architectures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in an embedded systems or IoT context, particularly with software that interacts with physical sensors.
- Proficiency with AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, or similar agents.
- Experience with front-end technologies like TypeScript or JavaScript.
- Familiarity with tools such as Azure DevOps, Git, Visual Studio, and various UX prototyping or diagramming tools.
- Experience in the automotive service equipment industry.
