Software Engineer II - Air Traffic Solutions (Onsite)

About the Role
Our Connected Aviation – Air Traffic Solutions - Software Engineering Department (ATS-SED) is looking for talented experienced Software Engineers to join our team developing and supporting our Air Traffic Control Systems worldwide. We develop safety-of-life air traffic management systems for multi-national customers used for controlling and monitoring civil and military aviation traffic. This is an opportunity to learn new COTS tools, processes, and methodologies as you focus on improving your skills to support, design, develop, integrate, and test operational software components throughout the software development life-cycle.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain software packaged into our Air Traffic Management Systems (ATMS) products.
- Maintain documentation and work instructions needed to meet ATS SED’s high maturity level software engineering standards and processes.
- Participate in the agile process including daily standups, sprint planning, retrospectives, backlog grooming, and story pointing.
- Work with an integrated engineering team in a highly collaborative environment, requiring frequent multi-level communication with engineering team members, program management, and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
- Experience developing, integrating, testing, and validating software components in a Unix/Linux environment.
- Experience with the complete software development lifecycle using Java or C/C++.
- Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Podman, Kubernetes).
- Proficiency with scripting languages such as Bash and Python.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with asynchronous messaging frameworks.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and the Atlassian tool suite including Jira, Confluence, Bamboo, and Bitbucket.
- Familiarity or willingness to learn Ada.
- Experience in software testing or debugging source code.

Pay
The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
