About the role
This team owns RocketLoans.com and the borrower experience from the first landing page through the application funnel. The work directly impacts conversion, revenue, and whether someone gets the loan they came for. The team is heavily frontend focused and driven by experimentation. You’ll work within a shared design system, run A/B tests, and use analytics to understand how users move through the funnel.
Responsibilities
- Write clean, tested, and well-documented code
- Provide peer code review
- Mentor other engineers on the team
- Implement new functionality
- Squash bugs
- Maintain the health of our code
- Deliver scalable and highly available services
- Grow as an engineer
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience working with backend programming languages such as Java, C#, or JavaScript/TypeScript
- 4+ years working with relational databases (MySQL, MSSQL, or PostgreSQL)
- Experience designing, building, and maintaining RESTful APIs and service-based systems
- Experience writing and maintaining unit, integration, and end-to-end tests
- Familiarity with testing frameworks and concepts such as mocking, stubbing, and contract testing
- Hands-on experience integrating with third-party vendors or external systems

Skills
- Strong understanding of frontend technologies
- Experience with Next.js and NestJS
- Knowledge of PostgreSQL and TypeORM
- Experience with Docker and AWS
- Understanding of microservices architecture
- Experience with observability tools like Amplitude, Sentry, Splunk, and Dynatrace
