About the role
Konami Gaming is seeking a Software Engineer I, Unity Game Developer to join our team. This position involves researching, designing, and developing software systems in conjunction with hardware product development. Responsibilities include formulating software systems, collaborating with teams, analyzing software requirements, and contributing to the technical vision of new projects.
Responsibilities
- Formulates and designs software system, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.
- Collaborates with teams of engineers, designers, artists, and others as necessary to ensure quality and market criteria.
- Analyzes software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
- Analyzes new technologies and contributes to technical vision of new projects or product lines.
- Uses AI tools, such as Copilot and Claude Code, to improve productivity in coding, debugging, documentation, testing, and knowledge acquisition.
- Validates AI-generated recommendations using sound engineering judgment and retains ownership of the final solution.
- Consults with hardware engineers and other engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software, and operational and performance requirements of overall system.
- Reports to senior managers about any discrepancies or problems requiring resolution.
- Provides proper documentation code or other pertinent information to create, maintain, or update software manuals.
- Complies with current and long-range objectives, plans, policies, timelines and game design and completion schedules of product releases.
- Develops and directs software system testing procedures, programming, and documentation.
- Always complies with the company’s regulatory guidelines and corporate policies. Maintains confidentiality regarding the company, products and employee information.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Full-time / 40+ hours per week.
- Must be flexible to work overtime, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Must be comfortable working in an area with limited working space for long hours with the ability to remain seated at computer terminal for extended periods of time.
- Extreme repetitive motion using keyboard, mouse, and telephone.
- Must be able to work effectively and efficiently in a high-stress, fast-paced, and high-pressure environment while maintaining high standards of accuracy, paying attention to detail, and meeting assigned deadlines.

- Position shall work primarily in a smoke free office environment. The noise level is low to moderate.
- The position may be required to attend trips to casinos, tradeshows, or as needed.
- Must be able to tolerate areas containing varying noise and temperature levels, illumination, vibration, crowds, and air quality.
- Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondhand smoke.
- Minimal travel necessary. 0-10%, or as business requires.
- Employee must be flexible to the travel needs of the business.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
