Software Engineer I, QA (New Grad)

About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Software QA Engineer to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone early in their QA career who is passionate about ensuring product quality within the software lifecycle, learning automation tooling, and collaborating with developers in a fast-paced industry. This is a 3-month temporary employment engagement. There is potential to convert to regular employment based on performance and business need.
Responsibilities
- Execute manual and automated test cases against a full-stack software
- Document and report software defects within the software lifecycle in Jira
- Participate in an agile team sprint planning/stand-ups
- Collaborate with developers and product teams to clarify requirements and reproduce issues
- Assist in maintaining a growing test repository of manual and automated scripts within the Playwright framework
- Continuous contribution to QA standards and testing processes
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field/equivalent education
- 0-2 years experience in software QA/testing (internships included)
- General understanding of software development lifecycle, testing methodologies, and Agile processes
- Basic understanding of coding languages (preferred JavaScript)
- Familiarity with Jira ticketing and Git
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving
- Strong communication skills
- U.S. Citizen and eligible for DoD Secret or TS/SCI clearance
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Exposure to automation tooling (Playwright/Cypress/Selenium)
- Experience with API tooling
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions/Jenkins, etc.)
- Motivated to learn and grow within the QA industry
- Team player with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
- Ability to manage time and tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Flexible mindset
Pay
Base Salary: Denver: $70,000; Long Beach: $80,000
Schedule
This role is a 3-month temporary employment engagement with potential to convert to regular employment based on performance and business need.
Additional Requirements
- Work Location—this role will be onsite at either our Centennial, CO or Long Beach, CA location, with travel to other sites as needed.
- Work environment—the work environment may involve varying temperature, noise levels, and other factors affecting working conditions.
- Physical demands—may include bending, sitting, lifting, and driving.
